14/10/07 - Walk For Home
Walk for home is a fun walking event to celebrate all that's great about Manchester, and to raise money for local people in housing need. Walk for home takes place on Sunday 14 October and you can decide how challenging you want to make it by choosing either the 12km or the 5km route.
Walk for home starts and finishes in Piccadilly Gardens and will leave a trail of footsteps as it passes some of Manchester's most famous landmarks, including Granada Studios and Manchester Cathedral.
This is a unique opportunity to join hundreds of people from Manchester's many communities and celebrate your amazing city. And by taking part you'll also be helping Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, raise money to ensure everyone in Manchester has somewhere to call home.
Walk for home welcomes people from all walks of life - young or old, male or female.
You can walk on your own, with your family, friends, or colleagues. You could even get together with your neighbours! The route will be fully accessible to all so come and enjoy your city, make new people and make your footsteps count for Shelter.
Encourage at least four people to join you and get your place for FREE!
All we ask is that adults pay a £10 registration fee, and raise a minimum sponsorship of £80.
