My name’s Melissa Jayne Porter. Apparently my name means honey bee in Russian, which is funny as runny honey is one of my most favourite things. I was born in a town called Didsbury, which is a suburb of Manchester and was born in the afternoon. I was a December baby, which figures, as Winter is my favourite season; all the twinkly lights and snow. The one downside of being born at this time of the year is receiving joint Christmas and birthday presents - I adore surprises and this doesn’t cut it for me! My star sign is Sagittarius, which means that I love to travel and am free-spirited, that pretty much sums me up. So travelling is a big part of who I am - this year I’ve travelled to so many beautiful places: Costa Rica, Miami, New York, Dubai, France, Italy – I am a seriously lucky lady.

One of my worst habits is my cleanliness obsession. I’ve been known to whip a pair of pants right off a body just so I can get them freshly laundered. Oohh..the smell of washing makes me tingle! I know that I’m a little strange. So, what makes me go weak at the knees? Being in love would have to be at the top of my list. I’m a huge romantic and love sharing my blessed life with my special partner. Travelling to new countries, tasting their cuisine and experiencing new cultures satisfies my wanderlust approach to life. Meeting people that can teach me new stuff is so important; I have an insatiable appetite for learning. What’s ironic is that my memory is rubbish. People often have to repeat what they’ve just explained to me, which means I get to be excited twice! Oh and before I forget, I also LOVE chocolate ; Charbonnel et Walker - yes please! Although I once tried to plough through a double layer of their champagne truffles and it almost turned me off them..25 in one sitting is way too much - fortunately I had the foresight to stop at 20 (ish), so remain an addict!

Growing up I always wanted to be an airhostess. I fancied the idea of sashaying down the aisle in high heels and red lipstick - I’m still undecided as to what I want to be when I finally grow up!

Behind closed doors my guilty pleasure would have to be eating almond butter straight out from the jar and watching back to back Kimora Lee Simmons then Girls of the Playboy Mansion. I adore the gloss and fluffiness of these shows – it’s hilarious to watch people who are so blindly self-indulgent.
